EU Sock Laws Baffle British MPs

The European Parliament is pushing for a bill to force British MPs to wear socks made from a mixture of French Wool, German Salami and Brussel Sprouts.

The socks, made by EU Sock Farms Plc, will be manufactured in member communities and sold via Sockozy Socks, established in France by the French Premiere in anticipation of the bill going through.

Lord Pearson, a member of the United Kingdom Independence Party—a political party whose aim is UK’s withdrawal from the EU—said most of the laws affecting British socks originated in Brussels and were passed without proper debate. The Sock Bill is no exception.

UKIP is organising a rally in London this week calling for an end to European lunacy and is demanding a full government inquiry. Although Lord Pearson admits the government will “go a long way to avoid any inquiry of this kind,” the bill is one more voice crying out for the UK to seriously reconsider its EU membership.
